Let’s Talk: Colour Blocking

One hair colour trend you need to know about this season is colour blocking. This technique involves using contrasting shades on different sections of your hair to give you a unique, show-stopping look.

Not looking for a dramatic change? Colour blocking can still be for you. HARI’s Senior Colourist Cassie, based at HARI’s King’s Road comments ‘this technique is for everyone, gender-free. Choose a look that compliments your style or gives you an interesting pop of colour.’

To help you with some creative inspiration on the trend, the HARI’s team headed to Wella’s colour studio and created a selection of bold and beautiful Autumn looks that embrace the colour block trend.

Playful Pink

Who says you can’t wear pastel in the Winter? Brighten up your cooler months with this beautiful blush colour. Based at HARI’s Northcote Road, Colourist Camila achieved this look by bleaching the scalp and toning with Wella Shine Infinity before adding the perfect shade of pink.

Pumpkin Spice

Colourist Cece based at HARI’s King’s Road created a gorgeous Pumpkin Spice look using copper tints and painting red panels at the side. If this doesn’t scream Autumn, I don’t know what does.

Winter Wolf

Stylist and colourist Adam from HARI’s Northcote Road created this gorgeous look by weaving dark and gold copper with accents of peach and rose gold into the hair for a subtle yet fun pop of colour.

Vintage Vamp

Colourist Cassie based at HARI’s King’s Road used a burgundy semi-permanent dye to create depth in the roots before adding some fire red balayage to break up the colour.

Red Hot

Coming in hot off the styling chair, Stylist and Colourist Martin from HARI’s Parson’s Green paired a full head of highlights with dip-dye ends and a block of on-trend red to achieve this statement look.
