HARI’s X Crisis, supporting people experiencing homelessness
It’s easy to overlook the struggles of those who don't have a place to call home. Yet, amidst the challenges faced by individuals experiencing homelessness, there lies an often forgotten aspect that profoundly impacts their sense of self-worth: personal grooming.
At HARI’s, we believe that everyone deserves to feel confident and dignified, regardless of their circumstances. That’s why we’re immensely proud of our partnership with Crisis, an organisation dedicated to supporting the health and well-being of people experiencing homelessness. Together, we’re taking steps to make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals without homes by providing free haircuts through our initiative.
More than just a haircut; it’s a restoration of dignity, a reaffirmation of self-worth, and a boost of confidence. For many experiencing homelessness, the inability to tend to personal grooming due to financial constraints or lack of access to resources can amplify the already challenging circumstances they face. A simple haircut can make all the difference, offering not only physical transformation but also a psychological uplift.
But our commitment doesn’t end there. Thanks to the generosity of Wella, who provided gifts of shampoo, conditioner, and hair masks, we’re ensuring that Crisis members can continue to care for their hair long after they leave our chairs. It’s about empowering individuals with the tools they need to maintain their sense of well-being and pride.
Recently, we had the privilege of speaking with Ella Zamir, the Partnerships Lead at Crisis, to delve deeper into the profound impact that the hair industry can have on this crucial cause and to discuss the different ways in which we can help people experiencing homelessness.
Together, let’s continue to champion causes that uplift and empower, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to look and feel their best, no matter where they are on life’s journey.
